Michael Clark Company presents master classes led by Kate Coyne and Melissa Hetherington, two long term dancers with Michael Clark Company. The classes have been created for advanced/ professional dancers, and include repertory from Clark’s current touring production, Stravinsky Project.

Biographies

Kate Coyne
Born in London, Kate trained at the Royal Ballet School and London School of Contemporary Dance, from where she graduated into London Contemporary Dance Theatre under the directorship of Robert Cohan. Later she joined Rambert Dance Company under the directorship of Christopher Bruce and from there went on to pursue a freelance career. Kate has worked with Michael Clark since 1997. She has also appeared with Jeremy James and Dancers, Martha Clarke, Mark Baldwin Dance Company and DV8.

Melissa Hetherington
Melissa trained as a Junior Associate at the Royal Ballet School for three years performing with the company in London and Japan. After graduating from the London Studio Centre in 2000 she began work with Sheron Wray’s Jazz Xchange Music and Dance Company. Melissa joined the Michael Clark Company in 2001. In 2007 Melissa worked with the Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company as Assistant Rehearsal Director. She has also recently been working on film projects with fashion photographer Will Davidson and choreographer Adam Linder for collectnudes.com.
