Steven Scott
Steven Scott, born 1955 in London and currently lives and works in Copenhagen following periods in Berlin and Amsterdam. He worked at Riverside Studios under Peter Gill and David Gothard from 1978 to 1984 and started a long collaboration with Michael Clark during those years. Scott currently moves between fine art, theatre and architecture. He received the Benoit Commendation, Paris in 1997 and in 2002 the Danish Reumert Prize for the best stage design.
Scott has worked amongst others with the British filmmaker Peter Greenaway, designing Rosa, a Horse Drama for The Nederlands Opera and the British artist Sir Anthony Caro. Recently Scott has had exhibitions in Copenhagen, London, Munich, Basel and Frankfurt. In 2006 he will have exhibitions in Copenhagen, Prien, Germany, Klagenfurt, Austria and Berlin.
Current works in theatre include designs for Don Giovanni with the Dutch National Ballet. Dangerous Liasons with National Ballet of Latvia both with Krysztof Pastor. NOKO for The Royal Swedish Ballet in 2005. A new work with Kim Brandstrup will open in the spring of 2006 with The Birmingham Royal Ballet. Scott is also collaborating with the choreographer Tim Rushton on a dance and opera project with The Royal Danish Opera and Ballet at Copenhagen's new Opera House. Designs for Aveny-T and Hedeland Oper and directing Don Giovanni for The Music Dramatic Theatre will also take place later in 2006.

Scott is represented by Galleri Weinberger, Copenhagen, Galerie König. Hanau Frankfurt and by Jorg Paal in Munich. He has shown with Gallery Weinberger since 2001 and Gallery Konig since 2004. Further exhibitions have taken place at Kunstforeningen, Gl. Strand, Copenhagnen, Mecklenburgisches Künstlerhaus Plüschow, Kunstverein Schloss Plön, Kunsthalle Frankfurt, Hamburger Alle, The Place, London. Værket Art Centre, Randers.
